Mastek, a global enterprise digital and cloud transformation specialist, recently secured a 5,000 sq ft ground-floor corner suite in the Green Park Business Park in Reading. After being impressed by our initial ideas, they entrusted Oaktree to undertake the fit-out of their new office space.
We worked closely with the team at Mastek, to understand their needs and requirements for the new space. The project involved creating an internal, operational split, of the office space, with one area for the Head Office, including the Director’s office, the Sales Department, Recruitment, and Administration, and the other for the Projects Office.
To achieve this, we used de-mountable partitioning to divide the space into two open-plan areas. A large boardroom was created to accommodate 10-12 people, along with several smaller meeting rooms for more intimate meetings. The boardroom and President’s office were soundproofed to ensure a high degree of confidentiality as well as eliminating any cross-talk disruption with any other, adjacent, members of staff.
It’s important, where practical, to have private spaces for employees to go, whether to draw breath or to take/make a private call, work quietly or dial into a Teams chat. To acknowledge this, we created phone booth-style quiet rooms, strategically located within the open-plan office. The yellow-coloured wall surfaces on the interior of the booths add a dynamic and fresh element to the space.
The modern tea-point features colourful seating that adds a pop of fun to the area, along with softer seating areas for relaxation and breaks. Oaktree paid particular attention to creating a welcoming entrance area, with the company logo installed above the small entrance desk to reinforce the brand’s message and personalise the space.
As the space had already been fitted-out to a Cat-A specification, there weren’t many HVAC changes for us to carry out, however, we did make adjustments to the fresh-air ‘supply & extract’ systems to comply with regulations.
The project took around 8 weeks to complete and was finished on time and to a high standard. Mastek was delighted with the finished work, which met all their requirements and expectations.
