PRA Health Sciences is a leading international pharmaceutical research company and are one of the world’s largest Contract Research Organisations. They have made incredible differences, helping to bring to the market, everything from niche treatments and therapies to blockbuster drugs. They have more than 13,000 employees operating in more than 80 countries, who help to improve lives, all over the world.
PRA moved its headquarters to a brand new 43,000 sq ft building, situated on Reading’s prestigious Green Park. Oaktree Interiors secured the contract to design and build their new office facilities.
An elliptical central office and meeting room area, known as the ‘Eye’ was featured on all four of the floors; providing formal and informal meeting space and offices. The glass partitions were formed of double-glazed units, using a combination of 10 mm & 12mm full-height glass with a bespoke design manifestation applied.
The main meeting and conference rooms have been equipped with the latest audio-visual solutions that will provide seamless connections with their other offices around the world.Furthermore, each of the meeting rooms is linked to a room management system to ensure there are no double bookings.
A fully equipped commercial kitchen and breakout/canteen area was formed on the ground floor to cater for staff and visitors alike, whilst each floor was fitted with a spacious tea point each with an informal seating area.
The Building Management System was upgraded, and it now automatically takes care of the heating and cooling of the building.
We included plenty of storage in the design. There are nearly 200 full-height storage units to take care of their large storage requirements.
The open-plan office areas were fitted with walnut finish furniture, including bespoke designed pedestals to accept laptops used by many of the staff.
