Our Client's Requirement

ActiveOps initially approached our Business Development team, advising us they had an active search requirement for alternative office space in Reading, due to an upcoming lease expiry. They compiled a shortlist of potential offices in the area and invited us to provide budgetary costs foreach of the buildings. We were invited to meet and undertake a survey of ActiveOps’ preferred building, taking approximately 3,500 sq ft office space at One Valpy Street in Reading town centre.

Their requirement was to create a contemporary and interactive workplace for their staff. It had to include an open-plan office area designed to accommodate 30 staff, new training rooms, quiet rooms, a library area, benching to provide hot desk facilities and a large breakout area with the additional function to hold informal meetings.

What Oaktree Delivered

We provided an in-depth, comprehensive Design & Build proposal based on their specific project brief and budget expectations. Our design team worked closely with ActiveOps to provide colour schemes, wall graphics and finishes that incorporated their brand and identity.

The overall layout was designed to allow for as much natural light to pass through the office by using glass partitioning systems and collaborative areas without compromising on acoustic noise between quiet zones.

We provided new workstations, soft seating furniture and various storage solutions throughout, along with a comprehensive mechanical and electrical infrastructure to service all aspects of their work.

The project commenced on site in April 2017 and was completed by June 2017 for an 8-week programme duration with the works completed to a very high standard.
