Thomson Video Networks provides broadcasters with a premium viewing experience across all networks, to all devices. For more than 15 years, the company has driven the digital television revolution forward with its advanced compression and content delivery platforms. Due to moving into a new modern ground floor office suite, Oaktree were tasked to provide office layouts for their operational requirements that included a dedicated R&D and test area for their broadcasting equipment as well as meeting rooms, Managers offices and a general working area for upwards of 16 people.
A number of the partition walls needed reinforcement to accommodate wall mounted screens, and the associated cables to provide presentations and satellite broadcasts were discretely hidden within the walls. Attention was given to the R&D area floor ensuring that risk of static discharge was negated by using specialist anti static flooring and plenty of dedicated power circuits were installed to the R&D area to power the specialist server racks. Additional dimmable recessed low voltage lighting was introduced to the meeting room to allow for precise lighting control during presentations. The existing fire alarm system was assessed and additional smoke detectors and sounders were added to the system to ensure compliance with current regulations.
