'Public Network Events' bring together public sector senior leaders and transformational suppliers to network and collaborate through face-to-face events, virtual sessions and cutting-edge insight. Their events provide a 'unique opportunity for clients and suppliers to meet in both formal and informal settings', with their programmes bringing together engaging speakers who 'lead the charge for innovation in their industry'. Therefore, the ability to communicate across multiple lines is vital in creating these events.
With these sectors containing a multitude of different companies with many different goals, an office design that can help their team adapt quickly and efficiently will stand PNE in better stead to deliver their services.
This is where the Oaktree team came in.
The over riding factor of the office design that PNE wanted to get right was its look and feel. People being able to move around the office with ease allows for different working areas to be created, in turn creating a need for different designs and materials to be used in each of them.
Whether it's the informal (meeting areas, breakout zones or collaboration desks) or the more formal (other meeting areas, open office layouts or private working facilities), the design we created utilises different types of partitioning, flooring, furniture and lighting to achieve that different 'look and feel' in each area within the office. The space was handed to us as a blank canvas space, allowing our site team to commence the office fit out without the need for any stripping of existing infrastructure. The initial phase was to form the various rooms, using a mixture of solid and glazed partitions. Additional sound proofing was added in certain areas, including a new sound recording studio.
A large kitchen was installed with the addition of bench seating, sofas, and a games area, (which could also be utilised for town hall-style meetings and events when required). An additional tea point was created to serve the open plan office space, which is in another wing from the main breakout space. New flooring was fitted throughout and our mechanical and electrical team installed new power and data points to serve all desks, offices, meeting rooms and the sound studio. The team also made changes to the lighting and air conditioning system to suit the new layout. New furniture was installed, which included desks, seating, pedestals, meeting room furniture and acoustic meeting booths.
The client is now occupying the new office space with the staff enjoying their new working environment. We're pleased to report that everything is running smoothly and as with all our projects, our office design team is always available to make any changes if required. We're very much looking forward to seeing how PNE progress in their new space.
To facilitate the company's expansion, PNE contacted Oaktree Interiors at the end of 2021 to discuss their requirements for their new office space they planned to move to in Crawley, West Sussex.
Already based in the local area, PNE had secured space at Global House, a landmark, modern, brick building in a prominent position on the High Street in Crawley Town Centre. The space had been fitted to a Cat-A specification, so our in-house team of designers were tasked with designing a space for the Cat-B fit-out, to suit the client's requirement for the new office space.
The brief was to create a bright, modern space that in corporated open plan office areas, a large boardroom, meeting rooms, a control room, a recording studio, quiet areas and a large multi-functional kitchen and breakout area.
