We are thrilled to announce that Descartes, a technology design firm, have selected Oaktree Interiors to undertake an office design and build project for their new location in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

As innovation is at the core of their business, Descartes recognised that in order for them to reach their full potential, a new office design in Chippenham was required. Not only would new bespoke office interiors allow them to offer their employees more flexible ways of working but they will also work to relay the company's brand identity to clients and any other visitors alike.

Who are Descartes? How will their office design Chippenham take shape?

Founded in 1981, Descartes Systems Group is a Canadian multinational technology company that specialises in logistics software, cloud-based services for logistics businesses and supply chain software.

They operate the 'Global Logistics Network'; an extensive electronic messaging system that is used by freight companies, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, government agencies, customs brokers and other interested parties to exchange logistics and customs information.

Their new Chippenham office is located just a five minute walk away from their current one, in the heart of the town centre.

Comprising of 2,700 sq.ft of space, the design brief we were given stipulated that the office must balance that fine line between promotional branding for clients, as well as being an open, inclusive office for all types of working styles.

Our office design proposal comprised of:

  • A branded meet and greet area.
  • Boardroom and training room.
  • HR office.
  • Small and medium-sized meeting rooms.
  • Open plan working area with sit-stand desks.
  • Hot desking facilities and booths
  • IT room.
  • Lockers and storage facility.

We were one of three design and build companies that pitched for this office design in Chippenham project, and so we were delighted that Descartes selected us to deliver what we proposed.
