We are extremely pleased to announce that we have been appointed to carry out another large office design and build project in Hertfordshire. Our office fit out team has recently started on-site at Rowan House in Letchworth Garden City, fitting out new offices for Innovative Trials.
Innovative Trials are a global clinical trials recruitment business, currently based in Lemsford, near Welwyn Garden City. The company's highly experienced Site Optimisation Team are dedicated to increasing and maintaining site engagement through regular site optimisation calls and visits to sites in over 60 countries. They provide targeted, measurable solutions to optimise patient recruitment and retention for their client's trials; as expansion is at the forefront of their business philosophy, it makes perfect sense for their workplace to reflect the same outlook.
Rowan House is an 11,000 sqft office building that was built in 2000 and comprises two floors with a central full-height reception facility (which is accessible from the rear car park), raised access floors, suspended ceilings, double glazing and a passenger lift. In addition, balconies are located on the east and north-east side of the building.
The facility is situated on Avenue One, part of the Letchworth Business Park, which has established itself as the premier commercial location within Letchworth Garden City. The landscaped Business Park (which covers 50 acres) incorporates many different businesses and has the benefit of having a leisure centre and a superstore of a major supermarket chain nearby.
Letchworth town centre and its mainline station, with frequent services to London Kings Cross,are within one mile, whilst junction 9 of the A1(M) is approximately 1.5 miles away. This provides easy motorway access to the M25 (22 miles), London (25 miles) and Stevenage (5 miles). Airport facilities are also within easy access,with Luton being just 11 miles away.
Overall, Avenue One is an ideal location to attract new clients and employees to a company; the question is, how to create an office fit out that balances the need to offer employees comfort and functionality, yet impress visitors alike?
Until recently, the building has been the home of a large, local housing association, however, the space's design and configuration that was left over did not suit the business needs of Innovative Trials.
Having been recommended our services by a local commercial agency, Innovative Trials engaged with us to discuss how the space can be redesigned and fitted to better suit their current and future needs.
Our in-house projects and design team collaborated closely with Innovative Trials and produced a new office fit out design that fully met their brief. With the space comprising of four separate wings, a key consideration was to accommodate different departments into specific areas,whilst also creating a space with an 'inclusive feel' for the whole company.
We managed this by producing a proposal that provided a contemporary modern look and feel, incorporating collaborative areas within the working areas, together with a new multi-functional breakout area for the use of all staff.
All of Oaktree Interiors' in-house trades have been utilised, with a requirement for an overhaul of the building's air-conditioning system, new power, data and lighting installations, a complete redesign of the layout, new decoration and lighting,and new office furniture installed throughout.
