An office design in Hampshire for White Rose Volkswagen

We are pleased to report that we have recently been appointed to create and build a custom office design in Hampshire for White Rose Volkswagen. The project will involve a relocation of their customer service area to the company's warehouse building situated next door. The warehouse-workshop building will be refurbished to cater for the move; making better use of the space available to bring the firm's operations under the same roof.

If you're considering making some changes to the layout of your workplace, read on to find out more about this project; how some of the work may transfer to your own operations in particular.

Who are White Rose Volkswagen?

White Rose are a privately owned business based in Petersfield and is home to the largest selection of Volkswagen-Approved Used cars in Hampshire. As a trusted Volkswagen Authorised Repairer, they offer their expertise on the purchase of new and used cars, as well as advice on keeping them in peak condition. Their dealership showcases a wide range of models for all lifestyles and budgets; from stylish city cars to family-friendly people carriers.

As a large portion of their business is to undertake inspections and repairs, the need to have a single facility that includes customer service space, warehousing and a workshop is seen as vital for the firm's ongoing success. And this is where we stepped in.

How we're undertaking White Rose's office design in Hampshire

Our team have worked closely with the client on their office design in Hampshire, initially taking a brief of the requirements for the new customer-facing service area and understanding how space will be used. We also took into consideration the impression White Rose would like to have on clients entering the service area.

The turnaround for the project needs to be swift, so we will be working alongside workshop staff to ensure servicing is not interrupted. The party wall between the proposed service area and the workshop will be the priority to build so that MOT's and servicing of cars can operate again as soon as possible.

The warehouse adjoining the workshop will undergo a complete rip-out of existing temporary partitions, which will then be fitted out with a fresh, bright service area, manager's office, workshop staff area, storage space and a new disabled WC.

As part of the overall project, our team have also been appointed to undertake the following infrastructure work:

  • New heating and ventilation system.
  • New electrical and data provisions throughout.
  • New suspended ceiling throughout.
  • New, full-height firebreak partition wall.

Work commenced on site in early March, with a set expected completion date of 4 weeks; this is allowing for us working within our newly adopted working regime, ensuring that the project is to be COVID-19 safe throughout the duration.

Thinking about giving your office a new lease of life? Don't let COVID be a deterrent

After a year of uncertainty, the continued roll out of COVID-19 vaccines and a 'road map out of lockdown' has allowed businesses the opportunity to put in place a plan for reopening. While it may be some time before we get back to the 'old normal', the 'new normal' of COVID-safe working environments will at least give people the confidence that they can get back to work, without any undue worries.

Aside from the need to be COVID-safe, improving the functional and motivational aspects of their workplace is another reason why many a local business is choosing to improve their office design in Hampshire. Instead of just placing in a fix for COVID, they are looking at their operations as a whole; what they are, how they work and how they can be improved.

For most of the last year, the team here at Oaktree Interiors have been working on several COVID-safe office design projects. While some of those projects have varied (everything from makings light COVID-safe alterations, right through to complete office refurbs), our clients have not let the pandemic situation deter them – so you shouldn't either. So if you are indeed thinking about giving your office a new lease of life this year, why not get in touch with us to learn how?
