We are very pleased to announce that we have been appointed to carry out an office design and build project for Pregis at their exciting new location in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Comprising of an office fit out inside a warehousing facility, the floor space available will be over 35,000 sqft, which enables this packaging company to accommodate all of its distribution facility that is all under one roof. Having carried out similar projects before, we have all of the expertise and knowhow to complete the job to the agreed timescale, so we can't wait to get started!

Who are Pregis? Why were they seeking a new office fit out and warehousing facility?

Originally established in 1992 in Hertfordshire as 'Easy pack', the company became part of the internationally-renowned Pregis Group in 2016. Pregis have established themselves as a global leader in the paper packaging market, with operations throughout North America and Europe.

The company's work sees them design and develop a wide range of environmentally-friendly, high-quality and great-performing cushioning and void-filling packaging systems. Their products are used by numerous industries and brands throughout the world to fulfil all of their packaging and protection requirements.

Being a leader in their industry, Pregis is well aware of the impact that a bespoke-designed work facility has on its employees. Without the space to operate effectively, their services simply cannot run as smoothly as demand dictates.

As a result, they have put plans in motion to relocate to a more suitable warehouse, in which they can comfortably combine their logistics and office work. The site they chose for their office fit out, was Aspect One.

Pregis' new warehouse at Aspect One

Located close to the town centre, between the A1(M) and Stevenage railway station, Aspect One lies in the perfect location for commuters. Being such an attractive area, it is already home to a multitude of multinational businesses, including Fujitsu, John Lewis, Astrium,Glaxo Smith Kline and BAE.

The unit that Pregis has identified has recently been refurbished to a Cat A standard and we will now fit out the 10,500 sqft of space that has been given over for the offices and product demonstration area to fulfil the company's requirements.

How we are approaching this office design & build project

Through our close work with the company, we have developed an office design that meets the current and future needs of the business. The warehouse will be operational during the fit out and we expect to be onsite for 8 weeks to complete the project, which starts presently.

The first phase will see the creation of new partition walls across an under-croft, between the office and the warehouse area, to create the new product demonstration space for clients. The rest of the ground floor will be fitted out to accommodate staff breakout areas,changing rooms and a warehouse manager's office.

The first-floor area will be predominantly offices and meeting rooms. Included in this office fit out design will be:

  • Open plan offices.
  • Private offices and meeting rooms.
  • A boardroom.
  • Informal meeting areas.
  • A tea point.
  • A complete installation of centrally controlled air conditioning, to all areas.
  • New office furniture throughout.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of September for the company to take up occupancy immediately.
