Thrive Homes’ office relocation in Hertfordshire
Due to the rapid expansion of the business, Thrive Homes decided to move from their current location at the end of their lease, to larger offices in order to cater for existing staff and future employees. Whilst a number of alternative properties were researched and considered in the area around Watford (we even undertook an initial space planning exercise for a new facility, close to their current location), it was clear that the best option available was looking outside of the town’s boundaries.
Located in Apsley, just outside Hemel Hempstead, the recently refurbished Westside Two was the ideal location for the new home of Thrive Homes. The office complex totals 185,000sqft of Grade A office space, with other tenants including HSBC, Epson, Samsung-owned Harman International and DAI Europe. Located just off the A4251 and a short walk from Apsley rail station, the complex offers ideal transportation options to attract new employees and clients alike.
Thrive Homes provided us with an initial layout, design concept and furniture brief, which we analysed and provided a full cost schedule for the project. We also provided them with a number of alternative options, as well as suggested some slight changes to the design, mechanical and electrical requirements and furniture specifications. This approach to their office design in Hemel Hempstead still allowed the client to retain the same quality look and feel but also offered them a more cost-effective solution in regards to certain elements of their original plan.
Such a project is an ambitious undertaking for any business, so we were pleased that our thoroughness and openness shone through, giving Thrive Homes the confidence that the project would be delivered on time, with no hidden surprises. Works are currently ongoing as of 11th June 2018 and we expect the project to be completed and ready for occupancy within 10 weeks.
