After previously carrying out the design and build service for their previous offices in Abingdon, our team of dedicated interior designers were invited to tender a layout for Akzo Nobel's new offices in Didcot. We are proud to announce that we have successfully carried out this relocation on time and to an extremely high-standard.
Although our team specialise in office design in London, we offer our office interiors fit out and refurbishment services all over the country. Behind us, we have an extensive portfolio of satisfied customers and stunning office designs which reflect the brand identities of our clients; ahead of us, we have a future which will introduce new technology to the market which will then allow us to create increasingly amazing workplace environments for a wide range of dynamic businesses.
Akzo Nobel is a global paint-coating company, and a major manufacturer of speciality chemicals. They supply industries and consumers all over the world with innovative products and sustainable technologies designed to meet the ever-evolving demands of our rapidly—evolving society.
With headquarters in Amsterdam, Akzo Nobel has somewhere in the region of 47, 000 employees in more than 80 countries. Their portfolio includes some incredible brands, including Dulux, Interpon and Sikkens.
The new premises that were chosen for Akzo Nobel's Automotive & Aerospace Coating EMEA office are located in Didcot. The area includes a first-floor office, with a warehouse leading to the ground floor, along with full-height warehouse space towards the rear of the building.
Having worked with Akzo before, we believed that we could understand better than our competitors just what the company needed in its new office space. As a result, we included a completely new boardroom, several smaller meeting rooms, a training room, along with a major open-plan office spaces and limited double/single offices as well. We knew that Akzo needed to maintain their own IT, and so we included an in-house server room, with a generous IT office space attached.
Along with the business-focused aspects of the refurbishment, we included an up-to-date staff breakout area along with a first-floor tea point. We understand that keeping staff content and making things as easy as possible for them can be a huge boost to productivity.
We also ensured that the warehouse space had been turned into a practical workshop, with a range of features that the company would require to effectively mix, trial and create new and innovative paints. This also included fitting new supply rings, such as gas-supply main rings and compressed air main rings. Ensuring that the area was suitably ventilated was another component of the design.
Here at Oaktree Interiors, we specialise in the creation of industry-leading office designs in London which can both effectively represent our client's brand identity and provide a stable and practical area for its employees to enjoy their working life.
