Oak Tree Interiors are proud to have been selected as designer for the latest locations of foreign exchange units for Travelex, at London Heathrow Airport's (terminals 3, 4 & 5). Our designs have been developed to generate an improved "customer experience", with changes being made to everything from general layouts to form, function and a fresh colour palette being given careful and thorough consideration.
Travelex's customers exchange foreign money, checking exchange rates and picking up pre-arranged currency, for up to 80 different countries.
Designing for an airport environment presents unique challenges, unlike those elements we usually encounter when carrying out standard office refurbishments. Every aspect of the design needed to be approved by BAA as it has to cope with the vast amount of passengers and visitors passing through the terminals and shop locations every day. In addition, the high standards of security influenced the design, to some extent and we needed to ensure that all of the stringent life safety requirements were fully met.
We are pleased to have been able to bring our specialist skill sets to this project, and hope that we will help play a major part in the Travelex's on-going success. Works are currently underway for all 23 new locations we are renewing, with a completion target of mid 2015.
