Our initial brief.
After receiving a brief from Brogan Group, our project team undertook a site survey of the new premises and presented the company with a number of layout options for their consideration. After a number of follow-up consultation meetings were held at the client's current office, we agreed on a layout and our experienced design team produced a design package that reflected Brogan Group' branding and aspirations. This design was achieved thanks in no small part to our strong relationship with the furniture manufacturers for whom we deal for. Having the opportunity to visit a number of showrooms during this process, allowed us to present a full design and cost proposal to Brogan Group at an early stage. This gave the company the confidence in knowing that the proposal would fit perfectly within their budget.
Like many of the businesses that we carry out office design services for, Brogan Group have recognised that a fast-growing company like theirs requires a bespoke environment to operate in. Aside from being able to improve comfort and in turn, productivity, amongst employees, a well-designed office that adheres to company branding can also act as an extension of their advertising materials.
Founded in the late 1980's by James Brogan, Brogan Group is an international specialist scaffolding and access contractor based in North London. The company have since expanded with further operations in Dublin, Lithuania and Dubai. Their services include the expert design, supply and erection of scaffolding, mast climbers and hoists to a wide range of developments. These projects have included airports, hospitals, office blocks, shopping centres and schools.
The company's first major contracts included working on high profile projects such as Victoria Coach Station, as well as the Farringdon Street Development. Quickly serving to establish the company's reputation for good service and performance, these early projects helped to secure repeat business with many of the industry's major companies. More recent projects that Brogan Group has undertaken include work on The Royal Opera House, Half Penny Bridge, Smithfields, 20 Fenchurch Street (The Walkie Talkie) Wembley Arena and Heathrow Airport.
After originally considering a refurbishment of their current offices in North London, Brogan Group decided that a relocation to a modern facility would be more in-keeping with the company's image and allow for future expansion. With these ideals in mind, the company purchased a new 12,700sqft two-storey building at Falcon Gate, located on the renowned Shires Park in Welwyn Garden City. Other tenants on the site include Tesco, Disney, Regus and Xerox. During the process of purchasing the building, our design and projects team worked closely with Brogan Group to ensure that the work could commence as soon as the purchase was completed.
Our main requirement was to offer a design that was able to accommodate all of the company's current office staff, whilst also considering the possibility of future employee expansion over the coming years. Due to the nature of the business, Brogan Group wanted the office space to be as open plan as possible, whilst still affording employees areas away from any disturbances and noise. Our design achieved these aims, thanks to the combination of both solid and sound-proof glazed partitions, as well as the incorporation of the latest designs in office furniture solutions.
Another key aspect that the company wanted incorporating into their design, was the encouragement for employees to interact with each other in order to increase collaboration. To achieve this, we included large breakout and kitchen areas on the ground floor design, which can be used for more informal meeting/collaboration spaces.
Due to our ability to keep all of the building work in-house, we are able to save on time and costs that the project incurs, savings that we pass on to all our customers. Aside from the design and consultation processes, the work that we will be carrying out on this project includes;
Our team started work in late-October 2016 and the project will be completed and handed over to Brogan Group in January 2017. This will give the company a great opportunity to start the New Year in their own brand-new, bespoke office space.
