Here at Oaktree Interiors, we are proud to announce that we have successfully carried out the relocation for Akzo Nobel's Automotive & Aerospace Coatings EMEA office to a new site in Didcot. After previously carrying out the Design & Build Service for their Milton Park offices in Abingdon, our team were invited to tender for their new Didcot office and were successful in being appointed as the perfect office interiordesign company for their relocation.
Akzo Nobel is an industry-leading global paint coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. Calling on centuries of expertise, Akzo Nobel supply industries and consumers all over the world with innovative products and sustainable technologies designed to meet the growing demands of our rapidly evolving and constantly-changing planet.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, they have approximately 47,000 employees in around 80 countries, while their portfolio includes well-known brands such as Dulux, Sikkens, International, Interpon and Eka. Consistently ranked as one of the leaders in the area of sustainability, Akzo Nobel is committed to making life more liveable and our cities more human than ever before.
The new premises Akzo have chosen is a first-floor office in an industrial estate in Didcot Park, which features a warehouse set to the ground floor and leading to a full-height warehouse space to the rear of the building. Our team has designed a completely new office space for the first-ground floor, including a new boardroom, several meeting rooms, a training room, both single and double office and extensive open-plan office space. It was also important to Akzo that they maintained their own, internal IT support, and so we included a complete in-house server room with a complete IT office attached.
We have included an up-to-date staff breakout area and even included a first-floor tea-point to make it much easier for their employees to make themselves hot drinks whilst at work. All areas that we have designed feature brand new furniture and it was important that the entire office maintained a high degree of audio-visual video conferencing facilities.
The warehouse space has been turned into a workshop with state of the art spray booths, quick-paint-dry car ovens, standalone paint mixing rooms, changing rooms and high-level stores. The new workshop also required specialist lighting, hard-wearing flooring, a gas-supply main ring and a compressed air main ring installations along with extraction and ventilation throughout the main area.
Here at Oaktree Interiors, we specialise in the creation of industry-leading office designs, which reflect the business' brand identity and provide a pleasant, efficient workspace for the company's employees. For Akzo, it was essential that we created a workspace with a fresh and modern feel, which completely aligned with the company's identity and ethos.
