Mariner Systems' New Office Refurbishment In Wokingham
After an invitation from Mariner Systems, alongside five other office design and build companies, our office fitters in Reading created a proposal for their new office design. After a quite competitive tender process, we were delighted to be chosen as their preferred company to work with.
Following on from the initial brief given to us by Mariner, we recognised that although their facility is already a mixed-use building, we were strongly advised to approach the redesign with a completely blank canvass. This involves turning the facility into something that was more in-keeping with the company's branding and functional needs. This approach is crucial for Mariner's requirements, as they were seeking a workspace that would be able to provide a long-term future for their business and with the current layout as it is, that just wasn't possible.
The work on the project will involve a complete strip out of the existing air conditioning system, suspended ceilings, wet rooms, flooring and even a full strip back to the core walls. New features that we'll be installing include MF ceilings, acoustic vertical barriers, manager/director offices, a boardroom, a server room, wet room and a welcoming area. Added to this are tea points and a breakout area, for staff to relax and have informal meetings away from the hustle and bustle of the working environment. In terms of the office, a mixture of solid/glass partitioning with manifestation detailing and new office furniture has also been included in the design.
The mechanical and electrical works will comprise of new air conditioning throughout the building, along with modern LED feature lighting, a new power distribution board, new floor boxes, AV connections and brand-new data cabling that will be upgraded to CAT6.
The project will begin in August 2017 and run through to early October. The works will take the form of a phased process, allowing for the company to continue working throughout the duration of their office refurbishment, without vastly disrupting their business.
