Move HQ, a brand-new fitness company, have taken over a former soft play facility, and the team at Oaktree Interiors have been appointed to design & transform the space into an elite gym, kitted out with the latest equipment and facilities, as well as employee office space, a mezzanine, and a café/canteen area.
The gym will be the first elite fitness facility in the area. This brand-new gym fit-out will be exclusively for elite sportspeople, specially designed for athletes, by athletes. So, as you might imagine, seasoned experts were needed to carry out such a specialised job; and this is where we came in.
This new fit-out represents Move HQ’s first-ever facility, so the need for them to hit the ground running with a top-class, suitably equipped gym is vital for them to establish their brand.
Taking place over 2 floors (and in 10,000 sq ft of space), the main part of the project will involve a complete strip out of the existing interior, with key build areas being the gym, café, changing rooms, seminar rooms and treatment rooms. The striking feature of the design is an overhanging gallery on the First Floor – overlooking the main gym area and running track.
The New Gym Fit-Out Consists Of:
Ground Floor:
Reception, office space, a running track, 3G workshop/open space, cardio/TRX/free weights/mats areas, and male and female staff restrooms.
First Floor:
Treatment rooms (x3), seminar/meeting rooms, café and break out area, male and female changing facilities, unisex WCs, disabled WCs and showers, kitchen/storage area, cleaners store and plant room, a library and a viewing/lounge area (overlooking the gym).
MoveHQ Gym Fit-Out Mezzanine Layout Design:
In terms of infrastructure, Oaktree are fitting out complete mechanical and technical set-ups, including air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. A mezzanine floor and cantilever viewing gallery will allow for the open views of the gym, whilst also fitting out all flooring, furniture and partitioning too.
The project will take 12 weeks to complete, providing MoveHQ with a late-summer opening date when most of us will be back to a more ‘normal’ lifestyle.
