Oaktree successfully refurbish 19th Century papermill for Whatman

Having successfully completed a new office design & build in their London Offices, Oaktree were asked to assist in restoring an old paper mill for Whatman in Maidstone, Kent, so that it could be used as a modern meeting place for client’s and visitors alike. Oaktree concentrated their efforts on exposing the existing beams in the 19th Century paper mill and restoring them back to their original condition. By shot blasting the beams and painting the pipework in a striking red colour a spectacular feature has been created. The training room has been given an additional sense of light and space, with splashes of colour carefully chosen to add vibrance and depth. The combination of relocatable furniture and practical design has enabled the room to offer flexibility and function in responding to the requirements of its users. |
