Initially designed for travel exchanges, cheque cashing and international money transfer outlets, the pod was officially launched at the NEC last month.
The launch generated a good deal of interest and successfully highlighted a need for self-contained units in other markets - such as small goods retailing and customer service and information points.
Responses to our previous marketing surveys were reinforced by enquiries at the exhibition. Interest from mobile phone companies for mini retail units, jewellers for watch sales and repair kiosks, as well as pharmacies and healthcare units.
The points that make a pod a great choice for these retail applications include:
- A speedy installation process allows trading to start on the same day as install.
- Installing a pod does not infringe on the fabric or foundation of the building so it means relocation or seasonal only use is easily achieved.
