Oaktree Interiors were chosen by the International currency exchange company, Travelex, as the Design & Build Company to provide Travelex with 13 currency exchange bureaus across the terminal.

Travelex had a direct input into the design of the bureaus and Oaktree presented 13 retail units, constructed primarily of glass, granite and aluminium, on time and on budget.

With over 30 million people passing through the Terminal 5 doors each year, Travelex needed to be seen as the natural partner to contact in the currency exchange industry and the new units, which are attention grabbing and stylish, certainly seem to reflect the image the company wish to portray.

Oaktree personnel were first on site on the 26th of March 2007 and with the majority of staff being on site daily, we soon got know how to play the system, deal with the sometimes overwhelming and challenging bureaucracy that was part and parcel of one of the largest construction projects the world has ever seen.

Oaktree have been a business partner and preferred supplier to Travelex for some 5 years and in that time have built over 50 currency exchange bureaus throughout the majority of the UK’s international and domestic airports.
